It has been very rewarding to have the opportunity to work on two Hospice projects in the last few years. A substantial grant was awarded to develop the gardens at Rowcroft Hospice in 2014 and having won the the design contract, my brief at Rowcroft Hospice was to produce a design that both increased access to the outside for patients of limited mobility. The garden design aims to provide spaces of comfort and solace for end of life patients and their visiting relatives. Paths were compact breedon gravel to be wheelchair friendly to encourage users and at the centre of the design a pond was installed incorporating a large copper whirlpool sculpture to offer a vortex of water energy , tranquility and inspiration.

More recently, I have begun working on another Hospice project, with a very similar brief, at Saint Luke's Hospice in Plymouth. This project is still at the design / tender stage but I will upload some photos on another page soon.
